This project is a pilot initiative undertaken by Kitar Genesys, to evaluate the effectiveness of cleaning plastic waste recovered through landfill mining activities and solid waste segregation processes.

The project aims to enhance the quality of recovered plastic materials through a dedicated cleaning process, reduce contamination levels, and produce raw materials that meet the specifications required by the recycling and resource recovery industries.

As a company focused on resource recovery technologies, Kitar Genesys, has designed and implemented this in-house cleaning process as part of its ongoing commitment to innovation in sustainable, efficient, and environmentally responsible solid waste management.

Project Objectives

• To improve the quality of plastic waste through a systematic cleaning process.
• To reduce the presence of soil, organic residues, and other contaminants on recovered plastic materials.
• To evaluate the effectiveness of the cleaning process prior to full-scale commercial implementation.
• To support Circular Economy principles by maximising the recovery rate of recyclable materials and enhancing resource recovery efficiency.
