Kelantan WTE (Low-Sulphur Industrial Fuel Oil)

This project involves landfill mining and the development of Material Recovery Facility (MRF) operations at two landfill sites, namely Tapak Pelupusan Kok Bedullah in Tumpat and Tapak Pelupusan Bukit Che Ros in Tanah Merah. Each site is designed with a landfill mining capacity of 300 TPD, forming a combined large-scale resource recovery operation.

The project focuses on recovering valuable materials, including organics, Refuse-Derived Fuel (RDF), plastics, metals, and other recyclables. Recovered plastics are transported to a dedicated processing facility in Pengkalan Chepa, which is equipped with a 50 TPD pyrolysis system and a 30 TPD fuel refinery process. This facility converts the plastic feedstock into industrial diesel, as well as other valuable by-products such as naphtha, bitumen, and char for commercial use.

Our On Going Roadmap

Research In-progress

KGSB is actively developing a range of advanced solutions to enhance waste recovery efficiency and support the transition towards a circular economy. These initiatives focus on improving resource utilization, operational optimization, and environmental performance across landfill and waste management systems.

The company is advancing Refuse-Derived Fuel (RDF) production systems to convert non-recyclable waste into a stable and usable fuel source for industrial and energy applications. In parallel, KGSB is developing smart landfill monitoring solutions through IoT integration, enabling real-time tracking of landfill conditions, optimization of operations, and improved environmental control.

KGSB is also exploring carbon credit-linked waste recovery systems, where waste-to-value projects are structured to generate measurable environmental benefits, supporting carbon reduction initiatives and potential participation in carbon credit markets. Through these ongoing developments, the company aims to strengthen its position as a provider of innovative and sustainable waste management solutions.

Flagship Projects

KGSB has, since its establishment in mid-2023, successfully undertaken a range of key projects that demonstrate its technical capabilities in landfill management, resource recovery, and facility development.

These projects reflect the company’s experience in executing landfill mining operations, upgrading existing facilities, and developing waste-to-value solutions across Malaysia.
